About Property

Discover a unique and charming getaway in Bolivar, West Virginia, where old world charm meets modern luxury. Built in 1864, this beautiful, romantic, and eclectic home brings a unique edge to a historic residence, located just an hour from DC and Northern Virginia and a short 10-minute walk from the Shenandoah River.

Designed for gatherings of friends and family, the home features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. The sleeping arrangements include two queen beds in the upstairs bedrooms and a double bed in the first-floor bedroom, which boasts original stone floors and a cozy electric wood-burning stove. The primary suite is particularly special, featuring a picturesque changing room with a beautiful antique vanity and full-length mirror. Between the two floors, guests have access to two full bathrooms, including one with a rain shower and live-edge stone sink, and another featuring a freestanding tub.

Inside, the living spaces are defined by artfully crafted carpentry and exposed stone walls. The open living area provides plenty of seating and a Roku TV, while the well-equipped kitchen centers around an authentic stone fireplace, perfect for chilly weather. The home also includes a washer and dryer, though guests should note the ventless dryer takes longer due to the historic 2ft-thick walls.

Outdoor living is a highlight of the property. Guests can unwind in the hot tub for 4, which is framed by hand-laid stone steps, a wood pergola, and a grotto-like stone wall. The fenced yard is complete with a hammock for afternoon naps, propane and charcoal grills, and a fire pit ideal for stargazing and roasting marshmallows.

Located in the heart of the Harpers Ferry area, you are minutes away from the Historic District's cobblestone streets, the Appalachian Trail, and the scenic views of Jefferson Rock. For those seeking relaxation, several picturesque wineries and breweries are just 10 to 20 minutes away, while the rugged trails of Catoctin Mountain Park offer an adventure for every skill level.
