Welcome to Avery's Cottage, a wonderfully situated retreat in Savannah's urban landscape. This historic sanctuary provides a peaceful space among some of Georgia's most historically significant locations, allowing you to genuinely stay atop Savannah's history.
Built at the turn of the century, the cottage beautifully combines popular federal design with antebellum and colonial styles. The interior is meticulously kept, featuring original wood flooring, hand-crafted crown modeling, and an original non-working fireplace that adds to the home's timeless character. The layout includes 2 bedrooms, 2 beds, and 2 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 4 guests.
The home offers an ensuite bedroom featuring shiplap walls, oversized windows, and a new queen mattress wrapped in crisp linens. The second bedroom is situated off the living room, providing another comfortable space with a new queen mattress and fresh linens. The ensuite bathroom includes a shower/tub combination, while the second shared bathroom features a low-entry shower. The primary living and dining area is a single open space perfect for relaxing, complete with two comfortable sitting chairs, a smart TV, and an oversized queen sofabed.
Your experience begins at the private entrance, leading through a garden filled with greenery and brick-laying paths. Inside, you will find a light-filled breakfast area and a galley kitchen equipped with new stainless-steel appliances, custom cabinets, and all the necessary cookware for short or extended stays.
Located on the east side of the Historic District-North, you are just minutes from the Savannah Riverwalk, Kehoe Iron Works at Trustees’ Garden, and Washington Square. Local treasures like the Pirate House are only two doors down, while fine Southern dining at The Olde Pink House and various museums, including the American Prohibition Museum, are within easy reach. Forsyth Park is a pleasant 20-minute walk away.
Practical Information:
