About Property

Welcome to Lake Shore Cottage, your cozy fall and winter getaway on the waterfront in Decatur, Illinois. Hosted by Beyond the Path Vacation Rentals, this lakefront retreat is designed for those who want to slow down, get cozy, and reconnect while enjoying peaceful lake views and genuine hospitality.

The home features a thoughtful layout with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 full and 1 half), comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests. The second floor houses the three bedrooms, including a primary suite with an ensuite bathroom, all featuring comfortable mattresses with 100% cotton linens, room-darkening shades, and ceiling fans. For additional guests, the lower level provides a queen-size sleeper sofa.

Inside, you will find two distinct living areas. The main level is an open-concept space with a well-stocked kitchen and a dining area that seats six. The lower level is an entertainment hub featuring a huge 80" projection TV for movie nights and a 6-player infinity digital game table for hours of friendly competition. Room-specific highlights include a kids nook/workspace and a laundry room stocked with detergent. Please note that the dishwasher is located on the lower level rather than the primary cooking space.

Outdoor living is a highlight of the property. Guests have full access to a private dock for swimming, fishing, or boating, as well as seasonally available water toys including kayaks, a paddleboard, and a lily pad. The exterior also offers a smoke-less fire pit (please bring your own firewood), two hammock chairs, lounge seating, and an elevated deck with al fresco dining for eight and a Weber natural gas grill.

Located on a quiet, non-through wooded lake road, the cottage is minutes away from local attractions such as Scovill Zoo (8 mins), the Devon Amphitheater (10 mins), and downtown restaurants and shopping (10 mins). Nelson Park Marina is also nearby for those wishing to drop in a boat.
