About Property

Escape to a European getaway in the heart of Minnesota at the Carriage House, part of the historic Estate of James Mulvey. For 133 years, this estate has graced Stillwater, and for over two decades, the Italianate stone Carriage House has welcomed guests seeking a truly historic inn experience. Situated on a lush acre campus overlooking a serene ravine in the south hill area, this property offers a unique blend of timeless elegance and peaceful seclusion, all within walking distance of downtown Stillwater.

Originally constructed to house the Mulvey family's collection of fine horses and carriages, and later gifted as a wedding present to a daughter, the space has been beautifully renovated. It now resembles a charming English cottage in the Cotswolds, featuring rustic beams and French doors that cascade out to a balcony with views of the private pool and the surrounding ravine. The interior is a curated journey of themes, with rooms inspired by the roaring 20s, the French wine country, and an ode to the original stables. The layout consists of 2 bedrooms with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 5 guests. The upstairs Art Deco and Bourdeaux suites are particularly luxurious, each boasting its own private bathroom, a jet tub, a cozy fireplace, and a private balcony overlooking the landscape.

Location and Neighborhood: Located in the south hill area of Stillwater, Minnesota, the property is perfectly positioned for those who want to explore. Guests are just blocks away from the historic downtown area, allowing for easy walking access to local shops and dining while remaining tucked away in a quiet, scenic campus setting.
