Discover the charm of the English countryside at the Roundhouse, a beautifully restored guesthouse located in the historic village of Walsham le Willows, England. Whether you are seeking a romantic getaway or simply a fun-filled countryside escape, this unique property offers a blend of history and coziness that is truly ideal for a relaxing break.
Steeped in local lore, the Roundhouse is the sole survivor of two original "post-mills" in the village. Once the site where peasants were obliged to grind their corn at the lord's mill, the structure has evolved through the centuries—from oil-driven stones after 1917 to electricity—continuing its milling legacy until fairly recently. Today, it stands as a meticulously restored retreat.
The interior features a thoughtful layout designed for comfort. Upon entering, you will find an open-plan living area where you can snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of red wine or a hot cup of tea in front of the warming woodfire. Please note that the original support beam in the center is quite low, adding to the historic character of the space. The sleeping arrangements consist of 1 bedroom with 2 beds and 1 bathroom, accommodating up to 4 guests. For groups of three or more, the sofa extends into a comfy sofabed.
