Sugar Moon Chalet House Rules

Welcome to Sugar Moon Chalet. We want you to settle in, relax, and enjoy the mountains. These simple rules help us keep the home safe, beautiful, and ready for every guest.

Registered guests only. Maximum occupancy is 10 guests unless otherwise approved in writing. No parties, events, or unregistered overnight guests. No smoking or vaping anywhere inside the home. Please also refrain from smoking near doors, windows, the deck, sauna, hot tub, or other outdoor living areas. Dogs are welcome with prior approval and applicable pet fees. Please keep pets off beds and furniture, clean up after them, and do not leave them unattended unless safely crated. Please use the designated dog areas and dog wash as intended. Quiet hours are 10:00 PM–8:00 AM. Sound travels easily in the mountains, particularly at night. Please be considerate of our neighbors when using the deck and other outdoor areas. Hot tub: Children under 12 are not permitted in the hot tub. Guests ages 12–17 must be supervised by an adult. No glass, food, smoking, or pets in or around the hot tub. Please replace and secure the cover after every use. Sauna: Children under 12 are not permitted in the sauna. Guests ages 12–17 must be supervised by an adult. No food, glass, smoking, or pets are permitted inside. Please follow all posted sauna instructions and never place towels, clothing, or other objects on or near the heater. Wood-burning fireplace: Never leave a fire unattended. Use only appropriate firewood, keep the fireplace screen or doors properly positioned, and fully extinguish the fire before leaving the home or going to bed. Never remove burning logs, embers, or hot ashes from the fireplace. Wildfire & outdoor fire safety: Colorado's mountain environment can become extremely dry, and wildfire prevention is everyone's responsibility. Park County regulates outdoor fires, and open campfires or other outdoor burning may be restricted or prohibited depending upon current fire conditions. Guests may not build or start an outdoor fire unless using a property-provided feature that is permitted under current restrictions. Fireworks, burning debris, and unauthorized open flames are prohibited. Never discard cigarettes or other burning materials outdoors, and use particular caution during dry or windy conditions. No unauthorized open flames. Candles, fireworks, portable fire pits, and other flame-producing devices not supplied or expressly approved by the property are prohibited. Parking is limited to designated parking areas. DO NOT PARK ON THE COUNTY ROAD, neighboring property, or in areas needed for snow removal or emergency access. Please respect the septic system. Only human waste and toilet paper may be flushed. Do not flush wipes—including those labeled "flushable"—feminine products, paper towels, diapers, grease, food, or other materials. Please do not move furniture or furnishings between rooms or take indoor furniture outside. Report damage or maintenance issues promptly. Accidents happen. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can address the issue quickly and minimize additional damage. Exterior security cameras: For the safety and security of our guests and property, exterior cameras with video and audio capability are located only at property entrance and access areas. There are no cameras inside the home. Cameras are not directed toward guest social or relaxation areas, including the hot tub or sauna. Tampering with, covering, disconnecting, or disabling cameras or other safety/security equipment is prohibited. Mountain and winter conditions: Weather and road conditions can change quickly. Guests are responsible for arriving with an appropriate vehicle, tires, and equipment and for complying with applicable Colorado traction and chain requirements. Check-out: Please follow the check-out instructions provided before departure, secure all doors and windows, and leave the property in reasonably tidy condition.
