About Property

Discover the artistic soul of West Texas at MOTEL, a thoughtful boutique hotel in the heart of Marfa. This original adobe renovation was spearheaded by craftsman Jantzen Matzdorff and the renowned design firm McCray & Co., whose collaborative work has been featured in GQ, Domino, and Tribeza. By blending vintage and custom finishes, they have created a space that honors the original structure while offering a sophisticated, modern retreat.

Suite 1 is a special 431-square foot sanctuary perfectly designed for two guests. The layout features one bedroom with a custom bed, plush king mattress, and luxury sheets to ensure a restful stay. This expansive suite includes two thoughtfully curated living room areas and open original ceilings that enhance the airy feel. Guests will appreciate the large kitchenette, which is fully stocked with a mini-fridge, two-burner induction stove, sink, toaster oven, and French Press. The bathroom is equipped with a tiled shower and essential toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Every detail, from the hand-picked vintage art to the custom furniture, contributes to an interesting and inviting atmosphere.

Beyond the suite, guests have access to an impressive shared courtyard featuring a beautiful fountain, a dedicated al fresco dining area, and a large outdoor fireplace for unwinding under the stars. A custom BBQ grill is available for those looking to gather and grill. For ultimate relaxation, the property offers a shared sauna and cold plunge, as well as "Oasis," a reservable private outdoor tub area featuring a vintage clawfoot tub.

Located in the center of town, MOTEL puts you within easy reach of major Marfa attractions. The town is celebrated for its vibrant arts scene, eclectic vibe, and unique cultural charm, making it a dynamic destination for art enthusiasts. Because of the compact size of the town and the central location of the hotel, walking and biking are convenient ways to explore local businesses.
