About Property

Discover the charm of North Yorkshire at The Carriage House, a beautiful studio situated within a stunning converted barn in the quiet village of Bilbrough, England. This unique retreat offers an inviting blend of rustic character and modern luxury, providing a peaceful escape just a short trip from the city.

Set within a 200-year-old barn that originally served as a carriage house, the studio is located on the second floor. The interior has been recently renovated to an extremely high standard, featuring impressive vaulted ceilings and exposed beams that highlight the building's historic soul. The sleeping arrangements include one bedroom with a luxurious superking sized bed, supplemented by a sofa bed to accommodate up to 4 guests. The space is completed by one well-appointed bathroom.

While the studio celebrates its heritage, guests should note that because it is not a modern building, sound can travel between apartments. To ensure a serene experience for everyone, the host observes quiet hours. However, the external environment is remarkably tranquil, where the only sounds you are likely to encounter are the calls of owls and foxes or the distant hum of a tractor.

Bilbrough is a serene village with very little traffic, making it a safe environment for children, who can enjoy the small but lovely local playground. For those who love the outdoors, the area is surrounded by open countryside with four public footpaths offering plenty of scenic walks. The location is exceptionally convenient, situated only 6 miles from central York, 10 minutes from the Designer Outlet Village, and 6 minutes from the Askham Bar Park & Ride. It is also ideally positioned for those attending the York Races or weddings at nearby venues such as The Normans, Woolas Barn, Hornington Manor, and Priory Cottages.
