Escape to the historic Pot Point Cabin, a unique retreat nestled on over 400 acres of protected natural lands along the banks of the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Originally built in 1835, this rustic cabin tells a story of resilience, having been constructed from hand-hewn logs and planks reclaimed from flat boats wrecked on the "Boiling Pot" rapid. Today, it offers a perfect blend of pioneer history and modern comfort for your next getaway.
The home is designed to accommodate up to 10 guests across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The sleeping arrangements include a King bed in the first bedroom, while the second and third bedrooms each feature one Queen bed and two Twin beds. For convenience, the two full bathrooms are split between the main floor and the second floor.
Step inside to find a great room with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a scenic view of the river. The home features a spacious dining table perfect for big meals or game nights and a den equipped with a smart TV and DVD player. The kitchen includes all the essentials for cooking. Outdoor living is highlighted by two decks overlooking the river and a firepit for starry nights. A small trail behind the house provides direct river access.
Nature enthusiasts will find themselves in paradise. The Pot Point Nature Trail, a 4.1-mile loop, is located directly next to the cabin, and the Ritchie Hollow Trail is also immediately accessible. Guests can also explore nearby attractions such as the Julia Falls Overlook and Snooper's Rock. Please note that all stays help support the Tennessee River Gorge Trust.
