Escape to the simple life at Rambouillet, a secluded sanctuary nestled at 10,500 feet in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in Hinsdale County, Colorado. Perched in a remote part of SW Colorado between Creede and Lake City, this cabin is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer, boasting unrivalled 360-degree panoramic vistas of the high country.
Designed for those seeking a true off-the-grid experience, the cabin provides comfortable accommodations for up to 6 guests. The layout features 3 bedrooms and 3 beds, including two private downstairs bedrooms and a cozy loft. The living spaces are built overlooking a beautiful valley, where the raw beauty of nature is visible through every window frame.
While this retreat is a pioneer of peace and quiet, it is fully equipped for a rustic stay. Water is drawn directly from a mountain spring, and propane gas powers the appliances, lighting, and water heating. To preserve the serenity of the environment, electricity is not available, and a strict no-generator policy is enforced. Guests can enjoy the warmth of a fireplace with provided wood and a gas grill on the expansive deck, perfect for savouring morning coffee or enchanting evening sunsets.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the property is a paradise. You have exclusive access to five privately stocked ponds and 1.5 miles of streams for fly fishing. The surrounding area offers miles of scenic trails for hiking, climbing, and photography, with frequent sightings of moose and elk. At night, the zero light pollution makes stargazing one of the most incredible experiences you will ever witness.
Location & Neighborhood: Located off Highway 149 in Quiet Valley, the cabin is approximately 17 miles from Lake City and 36 miles from Creede. Visitors can enjoy day trips to the Continental Divide Trail, the Rio Grande river, or explore Engineer Pass via a rented jeep in Lake City.
