Experience mountain cabin charm at the Brown Bear Lodge, a rustic and quirky retreat located in the heart of Red Lodge, Montana. Situated within Buettner Park, this historic cabin once housed WPA workers in the 1930s during the construction of the Beartooth Pass, offering a unique blend of old-time charm and the conveniences of an in-town location. It serves as the perfect basecamp for your adventures, whether you are skiing, hiking, biking, or shopping.
The interior is designed with a cozy, alley-style layout where rooms flow into one another. The main living space features an open dining area and a living room anchored by a gas fireplace, ideal for cozy winter nights. For those needing extra sleeping space, the living room includes two futons. The kitchen is equipped with essentials for meal preparation and includes coffee to start your mornings right. Note that due to the historic nature of the space, the kitchen does not have a dishwasher.
Sleeping arrangements consist of 2 bedrooms and 2 beds, accommodating up to 10 guests. The first bedroom features a comfortable full bed and dresser, with a full bathroom nearby. This room leads into a dedicated hot tub room, where you can relax in a three-person indoor hot tub regardless of the wintery weather outside. Through the hot tub room, you will find the second bedroom, which offers beautiful window views of the back lawns where deer and wildlife are frequently spotted. Both full bathrooms feature original cast iron bathtubs that are slightly larger than standard size.
Outside, the lodge is nestled among old-growth trees and lush lawns. The property includes a private parking area and a small fenced yard, providing a secure space for your furry friends.
