Escape to Harrison Serenity Ranch, a unique off-grid retreat nestled on 67 acres of pristine land on Palomar Mountain. Perched at 3,700 feet, this 2-story vintage ranch lodge invites you to unplug and rediscover peace while surrounded by breathtaking ocean and mountain views.
Sleeping arrangements consist of 1 bedroom with 1 bed and 1 bathroom, accommodating up to 8 guests. The interior of the lodge is designed for comfort and coziness, featuring a ready-to-go kitchen with a gas stove and a wood-burning stove with plenty of firewood provided to create the perfect evening ambiance. Guests can relax in the living room, which is equipped with a TV, or step out onto the private deck to spot local wildlife like deer and red-tailed hawks.
While the property is off-grid and powered by solar with generator backup, it offers a variety of magical experiences. Guests have access to a dedicated yoga deck, a sweat lodge, and beautiful hiking trails that wind through the ranch. History enthusiasts can explore the remains of Nate Harrison’s stone house or visit the area known as "The Kitchen" to see dozens of Indian Metates. For those seeking celestial wonder, the famous Palomar Observatory is just 10 miles away, making it an ideal spot for stargazing.
Located in Palomar Mountain, California, the ranch is a sanctuary for birdwatching, where you can listen to the songs of woodpeckers and owls. The journey to the property is an adventure in itself; access is primarily via Nate Harrison Grade Road, a narrow, rural mountain road. It is not recommended for RVs or trailers over 30 feet. Slow, cautious driving is required for the gravel sections to ensure a safe arrival.
Practical details include a check-in window from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Pets are welcome, though a pet fee applies and they must be declared prior to arrival, kept leashed, and never left unattended. To preserve the orchestra of nature, music must be turned off after 7:00 PM, and quiet hours begin at 9:00 PM. Campfires should be dimmed by 9:30 PM and fully extinguished by 11:00 PM using the provided shovel.
