Discover a rare little piece of Glenelg history when you stay at the Duchess room. Built in 1876, this two-storey bluestone heritage house was originally the residence of H.D. Gell, the Mayor of Glenelg in 1884. Perfect for couples, this large private retreat has been recently restored to some of its former glory, beautifully styled with a curated mixture of original and modern furnishings to create a unique and comfortable atmosphere.
Located on the top floor and accessed via interior stairs, the sleeping arrangements feature one bedroom with a double four-poster bed, catering to a maximum of two guests. For your convenience, the space includes two shared bathrooms.
This private room is secured with a key lock and is thoughtfully equipped with the following features:
Situated on Sussex Street, the property is perfectly positioned just 300 metres from the main stretch, allowing you to walk to the best restaurants, shopping, the tram, marina, and Glenelg beaches. A large reserve is also located only 250 metres away. While the location is amazing for sightseeing, please note that the area can become busy during summer months, which may result in some pedestrian noise from those returning home at night.
