NOISE & NEIGHBOURS

Please be considerate of our neighbours and the local community.

Tintagel is a quiet town at night and sound carries surprisingly well. Many of our neighbours are working local residents rather than holidaymakers.

Noise, music and outside activity must be kept at a reasonable level at all times.

Quiet hours are from 11:00pm. Noise outside must be kept to an absolute minimum during quiet hours.

Guests must comply promptly with any reasonable request to reduce excessive noise or disturbance.

WOOD-FIRED HOT TUB

Before using the hot tub, the Lead Guest must complete and sign The Avalon Wood-Fired Hot Tub Terms of Use & User Agreement.

Link will be messaged to you 5 days before arrival.

The Lead Guest is responsible for ensuring that everyone using the hot tub is aware of and complies with the Hot Tub Terms and Rules.

The hot tub is unsupervised.

Children under 12 must not use the hot tub.

Children aged 12–17 must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times when using or in the immediate vicinity of the hot tub.

Only persons aged 18 or over may operate or fuel the wood-burning stove.

The water temperature must be checked before entering and must never exceed 40°C.

The hot tub must not be used by anyone whose ability to use it safely is impaired by alcohol, drugs or medication.

The hot tub must not be used between 11:00pm and 7:00am.

Guests must comply with all operating and safety instructions contained in the Hot Tub Terms of Use & User Agreement.

HOT TUB COVER, STOVE & EQUIPMENT

Tintagel can experience strong winds.

Whenever the hot tub is not in use, the cover must be properly secured using all clips and both orange ratchet straps provided, regardless of the weather conditions at the time.

Guests must not sit, stand, climb or place heavy objects on the hot-tub cover.

The stove, flue and surrounding components can become extremely hot. Children and pets must be kept safely away.

Guests must not tamper with, dismantle, modify or interfere with the hot tub, stove, chimney, water connections or associated equipment except as required for normal operation in accordance with the instructions provided.

Reasonable repair or replacement costs resulting from deliberate, reckless or negligent misuse may be claimed in accordance with Airbnb’s applicable policies.

HOT TUB HYGIENE & WATER QUALITY

Guests must shower before using the hot tub and remove fake tan, oils, lotions and cosmetics before entering the water.

Oils, bubble bath, bath salts, soaps or other products must not be added to the hot-tub water.

Guests must not add chemicals other than those specifically provided and instructed for guest use.

Any concern about the water quality, safety or operation of the hot tub must be reported promptly.

Where there is a genuine concern about safety or water quality, the hot tub should not be used until the concern has been investigated.

HOT TUB ON DEPARTURE

Before departure, guests must empty the hot tub in accordance with the instructions provided and leave it reasonably clean and free from rubbish or other items.

CLEANING & CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY

Guests are expected to leave The Avalon in a reasonably clean and tidy condition.

The normal cleaning arrangements cover a standard changeover clean following ordinary use. They do not cover excessive cleaning resulting from the condition in which the property is left.

Where cleaning beyond a normal changeover is reasonably required, the reasonable additional cost may be claimed in accordance with Airbnb’s applicable policies.

This may include excessive rubbish or washing-up, significant spillages or staining, heavily soiled floors, carpets, furniture, bedding or towels, bodily fluids or contamination, or other circumstances requiring additional or specialist cleaning.

DAMAGE, BREAKAGES & MISSING ITEMS

Guests are responsible for damage, breakages or missing items caused by themselves, members of their party or visitors during their stay, excluding reasonable wear and tear.

Please report accidental damage or breakages promptly.

Reasonable repair, replacement or additional cleaning costs may be claimed in accordance with Airbnb’s applicable policies.

SMOKING & VAPING

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside The Avalon.

Reasonable additional cleaning, deodorising, repair or replacement costs resulting from smoking or vaping inside the property may be claimed in accordance with Airbnb’s applicable policies.

EV CHARGING

Electric vehicles must only be charged using the designated EV charging facilities at The Avalon.

A fixed minimum charge of £75 applies and includes up to the first 100kWh of electricity used. Usage above 100kWh is charged at £0.75 per kWh.

Domestic electrical sockets and extension leads must not be used for EV charging.

Guests must not tamper with the EV charger, electrical supply or associated equipment.

OCCUPANCY & SOFA BED

The standard occupancy of The Avalon is up to 16 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 18 guests using the additional sofa bed in the TV/Playroom.

If you require the sofa bed in the TV/Playroom to be made up, this must be requested in advance and a £100 per stay charge applies.

The number of overnight guests must not exceed the number included in the confirmed booking.

Additional overnight guests must be agreed with us in advance and added to the booking where applicable.

RESTRICTED AREAS

Guests must not enter or use locked bedrooms, cupboards, storage areas or other areas identified as unavailable to guests.

DOGS

We would love your dogs to stay. Dogs are permitted where they have been declared and agreed as part of the booking. Bowls and dog beds are provided.

An applicable £40 per dog per stay charge must be paid.

Guests must take reasonable steps to protect furniture, carpets and furnishings.

Dogs must not be permitted in the hot tub.

All dog waste must be removed from the house, terraces and garden before departure.

Guests are responsible for damage or excessive additional cleaning caused by their dogs beyond normal use.

Nothing in these rules affects any rights relating to assistance dogs under applicable law.

RUBBISH & WASTE

Please place rubbish and recycling in the appropriate bins provided and follow the waste instructions at the property.

Where excessive rubbish or waste requires additional removal or cleaning beyond a normal changeover, the reasonable additional cost may be claimed in accordance with Airbnb’s applicable policies.

FIREPLACE, SAFETY & PROPERTY EQUIPMENT

The wood burner/fireplace must be used responsibly and must not be left unattended while in use.

Guests must not burn unsuitable materials or tamper with or interfere with the fireplace, flue, fire or safety equipment, boilers, electrical equipment, hot-tub equipment, controls or other plant and machinery.

Any fault, damage or maintenance problem should be reported promptly rather than guests attempting repairs themselves.

LEAD GUEST RESPONSIBILITY

The Lead Guest is responsible for ensuring that all members of their party and any visitors are aware of and comply with these Additional Rules throughout the stay.
