Experience the art of slowing down at The Little Farmhouse, a cozy 1-bedroom retreat nestled on a 117-acre working Wagyu farm in Lynden, Washington. This is the kind of place where guests come to finally exhale, waking up to open skies and the sight of cattle grazing in the distance. Designed for those seeking peace and quiet, this custom-built home offers a grounded getaway where the only nighttime lights are the stars and a string of lights across the grounds.
The home is thoughtfully designed for two, featuring a simple yet comfortable layout that includes 1 bedroom with a cozy queen bed and premium linens, 1 bathroom, and a comfortable living area. Guests can enjoy the convenience of a full kitchen equipped with pots, pans, and basic cooking essentials, as well as an in-unit washer and dryer. From the private patio, you can take in peaceful farm views, including the peaks of Mount Baker and the Twin Sisters showing across the fields.
As a real working farm, the experience is authentic rather than staged. You will likely see cattle, farm equipment, and the rhythms of day-to-day farm life. For a unique culinary touch, guests are welcome to visit the on-site farm store to purchase Oostema Wagyu beef raised right on the property, which can be grilled on the BBQ located just outside the door.
Beyond the farmhouse, the property invites exploration. Take evening walks down the quiet farm lane, enjoy the fire pit, or unwind in the private hot tub. The hot tub is fully enclosed with privacy fencing and gated entrance, available by reservation daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Located in Lynden, the property provides a serene escape while remaining close to Bellingham, Mt. Baker, Nooksack Falls, and Birch Bay. It is an ideal base for local hiking, visiting breweries, or taking coastal day trips.
