Experience the serenity of Cape Cod at 'Light on the Mayo,' a newly built and finely appointed cottage located in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Positioned directly across from the famous Mayo Beach in Wellfleet Bay, this incredibly cozy retreat offers unobstructed views of the harbor and an atmosphere of excellent privacy.

Designed in a unique 'C' configuration, the cottage features 2 bedrooms, each with 2 luxurious queen post beds featuring thick pillow-top mattresses, and 1 bathroom. The layout ensures quiet solitude, with bedrooms situated on opposite ends of the home and a backyard protected by a sandy dune to keep road noise at bay.

Inside, you will find a modern kitchen equipped with an amazing gas stove and oven, an oversized deep sink, and plentiful cooking supplies. The space opens into a beautiful dining nook featuring a very expensive natural edge wood table, custom-crafted by a local artist. The living room is designed for relaxation with two sumptuous captain's chairs, a three-person queen-sized sofa with a pullout, and a 32" HDTV on a swivel for viewing from any room. For climate comfort, the home is fully insulated and utilizes three mini-split systems providing heating and air conditioning in each bedroom and the living area, complemented by rotating ceiling fans.

The bathroom is efficiently designed with a large shower featuring an oversized showerhead and a removable wand. Additional interior conveniences include a stackable washer and dryer closet and full-sized dressers in the bedrooms.

Outdoor living is a highlight of this property. The naturally landscaped front yard, fenced with barn posts, includes an old-school picnic bench with an umbrella and four Adirondack chairs perfectly positioned for morning coffee or evening cocktails and oysters while overlooking the bay.

Located on the sleepy and slow Kendrick road, guests have direct private access to a semi-private stretch of beach. The shallow waters of the bay are among the warmest in New England, though swimming is best enjoyed during the four hours around high tide. When the tide recedes, guests can explore the flats for spider crabs, scallops, and the famous Wellfleet oyster. Nearby attractions include the ponds of Cape Cod and the surf at Newcomb's Hollow. Please note that a beach sticker is required for certain areas, and the hosts are happy to assist guests in obtaining one.
