Escape to a truly Insta-worthy country house in Cantley, Quebec, where art meets nature with distinct 70s boho vibes. This incredible post and beam ‘eco’ house is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary, constructed in the 1970s using salvaged river rocks, lumber, and century-old beams from a Renfrew barn, then renovated in 2022 with modern touches throughout.
Designed for both entertaining and relaxing, the home accommodates up to 8 guests. The layout features 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, with sleeping arrangements consisting of 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, and 2 single sofa beds. On the main level, a bedroom with a queen bed includes a desk and office chair for those needing to work from home. The upper level hosts the exceptionally large main bedroom with a king bed and two spacious wardrobes, alongside a second bedroom featuring a queen bed, dresser, and desk. A large full bathroom on this level includes a shower, bathtub, and a brand new washer/dryer.
Living spaces are generous and eclectic, featuring art and antiques collected from across Europe and the Mediterranean. The main floor offers three spacious living areas, including a sofa lounge and a dining area with a travertine table seating 6-8. Food lovers will appreciate the fully equipped chef’s kitchen, boasting a large island with bar seating, a Nespresso coffee maker, and a smart refrigerator with a built-in speaker and touchscreen TV. For quiet moments, an intermediate level sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows provides a perfect spot for reading or playing games from the extensive library while watching deer, fox, and birds in the garden.
Outdoor living is a highlight, featuring a 3-seasons screened living and dining room with outdoor heaters and lighting (open starting in May). The expansive yard includes a propane BBQ, a firepit, and a swinging chair on the porch during summer months.
