This open-concept getaway captures the essence of a bygone era, combining Colonial nautical charm with 21st-century comfort to provide a genuine New England hospitality experience.

Originally a blacksmith's shop in the early 1900s, this historical stay is part of the larger Williams property. The cottage is designed for a small family group or two couples, featuring 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom that accommodate up to 4 guests. The first floor hosts an open-concept king-size bedroom separated by a partition wall without doors. The second floor is an attic-style loft with a queen-size bed, accessed via steep ladder stairs not recommended for children under 8 or those with balance challenges. For added flexibility, a twin-sized air mattress can be provided on the first level.

Inside, you will find nautical touches, antiques, and whimsical murals by artist Susan Dwyer Leach. The living space is an open-plan area with two sofas, a 43” Samsung Smart TV with Roku, and a Sonos Beam Soundbar for cozy movie nights. A dining table for four separates the sitting area from the fully equipped kitchen. The shared full bathroom is located on the first floor and requires one step up for access.

Outdoor living is a highlight, with a private covered porch featuring four rocking chairs and a shared backyard equipped with Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, hammocks, a firepit, and a propane grill. Guests also have access to two shared driveway parking spots.

Located on Main Street at the head of the Mystic River, the cottage is a short 5-minute ride to Mystic Seaport, shops, and restaurants. Scenic River Road is just around the corner for walking or biking, and Haley's Way Playground is located directly behind the property. Please note that the bustling corner location results in road noise during the day, though the hamlet remains quiet and peaceful in the evenings.
