Experience the magic of maritime history at Capt. Burrows’ Home, a storybook saltbox brimming with nautical character and classic New England charm in Mystic, Connecticut. Stepping into this circa-1810 retreat feels like a journey back in time, where you can imagine the captain returning from sea and slipping goods through the old cellar door. This lovely private guest room is ideal for a couple or solo traveler seeking a cozy, historic sanctuary with sweet water views toward Tufts Cove.
Your private second-floor sleeping quarters are designed for deep rest, featuring one comfortable queen bed, fresh pillows, lovely linens, and fluffy towels. For your convenience, a private bathroom is located just outside the room for your exclusive use. To ensure peace of mind, the bedroom door locks from the inside, and as this is currently the only private-room offering in the home, you will not be sharing the space with other room guests.
Beyond your room, you have access to shared common areas that make the house feel like a true home-away-from-home. The interior is filled with sun, wide-board floors, and original features. You are welcome to relax in the cozy shared living room or utilize the shared kitchen for light use, which includes a fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Please note that the kitchen is not set up for cooking full meals, as guests do not have stovetop or oven access.
