Location & Neighborhood: Villa Alebrije is situated on the edge of Buenavista, known as 'Nice View.' The home is within walkable distance to the town center, where you can find local meals and basic groceries. The Bacalar lagoon is only 300 meters away, offering both public access and entry via a local lido (for a 35 pesos/2 USD fee), where kayaks and paddle boards can be rented. Because this area of the lagoon prohibits motor boats, guests can enjoy total peace. The town is located 20 minutes from Bacalar, 30 minutes from the Caribbean coast of Mahahual, and 50 minutes from the Belize border, with numerous archeological sites and lagoon activities nearby.

Please note that there are no ATMs or money exchanges in Buenavista, and cellphone service is poor; it is recommended to download maps before arriving. While a public bus stop is available, a rental car is highly recommended.
