PURA VIDA ECOLODGE RULES

1. Please respect the check-in time from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the check-out time no later than 9:00 a.m.

2. When booking at Pura Vida Ecolodge, make sure your flights to Costa Rica arrive well in advance to have plenty of time to collect your luggage, go through customs, collect your 4x4 rental, etc., and then arrive in the Coronado area well before dark. If the rains are prolonged and especially heavy in the late afternoon/evening (during the green season from May to November), it is advisable to wait for them to pass, as the river in the village of Tres Ríos sometimes rises so high that the concrete bridge is temporarily impassable. This has only happened a few times since our opening, but it is better to be forewarned and cautious, especially since we are experiencing more extreme weather conditions in recent seasons due to the global CLIMATE EMERGENCY and we anticipate that this route will be flooded more frequently than in previous years. If the TRES RÍOS BRIDGE remains impassable for a considerable time or after check-in time, there is the alternative of the PUNTA MALA ROUTE to the hostel (see updated conditions). We are waiting and praying for the local municipality to build a better bridge here in Tres Ríos, but this is Costa Rica and these improvements are very slow. Please also note that Pura Vida Ecolodge is located on a public road with steep and rough stretches, the maintenance of which is the responsibility of the local Municipality. YOU WILL NEED A 4X4 VEHICLE (NOT AWD) WHEN VISITING THE SOUTHERN AREA and don't forget to bring your adventurous spirit

*We cannot accept last-minute changes to guest reservations due to lack of prior planning and/or extreme weather conditions that are beyond our control, and we kindly remind guests that we have a strict cancellation policy and again, that they must fully respect the check-in window and check-out times before making any necessary changes.

3. Please book your 4x4 vehicle, travel itinerary and estimated time of arrival well in advance (travel time from SJO to Pura Vida Ecolodge is 3.5 to 4 hours). Also keep in mind the driving conditions in Costa Rica, especially during the green season, as in some areas bridges may be temporarily flooded and it may be necessary to use alternative routes to reach the hostel or to carry out activities and excursions. Please see the welcome pack for more information.

4. Please do not climb, stand, sit, or exert excessive weight or force (no matter how striking the photo) on the terraces/handrails or corners of the hanging terrace tables on the first level of the property (including the breakfast bar). While perfectly safe and supportive, their function is to serve as a terrace/handrail and not to lean excessively or climb. We are not responsible for accidents or damage caused by improper use.

5. STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to have barbecues, make fires and FIREWORKS, neither on the property nor within the grounds of Pura Vida Ecolodge, please.

6. Please return all furniture as you found it before making payment.

7. No parties or festivities allowed.

8. Pura Vida Ecolodge has a large 6-burner gas stove. Before using the gas burners, lift the glass lid and, after using them, wait for all the burners to cool completely before lowering the lid. Do not leave the burners unattended or place anything on the glass cover.

9. For longer stays (10 days or more), we usually arrange a weekly cleaning service, which is usually more convenient if guests are out in the morning and is usually scheduled for 9:00 am. This service includes the replenishment of the Pura Vida pantry, the organic cafeteria and organic products for the bathroom and spa, among others. Payment is made to Juan Carlos, please, at a fixed rate of $100 per week.

10. Please remove trash and recyclable material at the end of your stay. You will find information about garbage and recycling points in the welcome package.

11. Please DO NOT feed any visiting animals (including dogs, monkeys, coatis, etc.), no matter how incredible they are and no matter how shy and friendly they seem. Feeding wild animals with human food alters the balance of their diet and, in turn, the ecosystems of which they are an important part.

12. We understand that minor breakages may occur from time to time, but we kindly ask guests to inform us immediately if they have an accident. Naturally, guests are expected to clean up any damage before checking out (including broken ceramics or glass, etc.), and they will be charged accordingly based on the severity of the breakage/accident (based on replacement cost, delivery charges, and installation costs).

In addition to that, the main "HOUSE RULES" are to adopt the philosophy and concept of PURE LIFE that we have worked so hard to create. This means respecting nature, animals and the magical environment of Jungle Villa and its reserve. Our main goal, as designers, hoteliers and "conceptualists of the ecological life", is that you can leave behind the urban hustle and bustle and fully enjoy a unique life in Pura Vida Ecolodge during your stay, whether it's just two days or two weeks, always aware that Jungle Villa is really "A Retreat, A Lifestyle and An Experience".

TICKETS/DEPARTURES We understand that life on the Pacific coast can start early, so we remind you that the check-out time is 9:00 am and the check-in time is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. In addition, according to the welcome package notes, Juan Carlos will meet guests at Pulpería Coronado and accompany them to Pura Vida Ecolodge. This protects them against losses in the mountains. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ARRIVE ON YOUR OWN ON CHECK-IN DAY.

Regarding early check-ins and late check-outs, we understand that many of our Jungle Retreat guests have an extended itinerary, often with little flexibility in terms of transportation and domestic flights, so of course we will gladly try to accommodate their schedules as much as possible.

BEDROOMS WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM The Ocean View Suite can be configured as a Super King bed or with two single beds, depending on your needs and the size of the group. It also has a single fold-up bed. The Jungle View Suite features a queen size bed. It also includes a sofa bed that sleeps two more people, with a limit of 6 people in the entire Jungle Retreat.

CONCIERGE SERVICE We will gladly assist you with car rental and transportation, as well as with arranging tours, expeditions, trips, and adventures. We also offer laundry service, delivery of local products from the Pura Vida store and homemade meals, as well as organizing massages for couples, yoga classes and even a private chef experience.
