Discover a luxury glamping experience at Aurora Yurt, a cozy retreat nestled in a premier Alaskan recreational hub in Talkeetna. Perfect for those seeking an authentic wilderness escape without sacrificing comfort, this unique stay serves as an ideal base for exploring the rugged beauty of the North.
This intimate space is designed for two guests, featuring one bedroom with a comfy queen bed equipped with charging ports, bedside lights, and a selection of Alaskan themed books. To keep you warm during chilly nights, the yurt offers a Blaze King Woodstove, a space heater, and an electric blanket.
As a dry yurt, there is no running water inside; instead, a water container is provided for filling from the outside well, complemented by a grey water bucket. The fully functional kitchenette is well-appointed with a small sink, microwave, fridge/freezer, electric cooktop, and toaster. Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate the Keurig, french press, and coffee grinder, along with locally roasted Farm Loop Coffee, Felicity Loft tea, and Grey Fox lotion. For relaxation, the yurt includes a small dining table, chess board, deck of cards, and binoculars for birdwatching from the large private deck.
While the yurt is private, guests have shared access to a heated bathhouse located next door, which includes a toilet, shower, and laundry facilities.
Located off mile 88 of the Parks Highway in the Caswell area, Aurora Yurt is minutes away from world-class fishing at Sheep Creek, Goose Creek, Montana Creek, and the Kashwitna River. Guests can enjoy direct property access to ATV trails and millions of acres of public lands for winter snow machining. The surrounding area is a haven for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing thanks to the local dog mushing community. Additional nearby adventures include dog sled tours, flightseeing, and river rafting, with easy trips to Hatcher Pass, Talkeetna, or Denali National Park. For dining, the Sheep Creek Lodge and Denali Brewing and Tasting Room are just minutes away.
