Discover the ultimate budget-friendly base camp for your Acadia adventures at Cottage #9, located at The Open Hearth Inn in Trenton, Maine. This vintage gem offers a comfortable trip back in time, providing a rustic yet private sanctuary for those who want to explore the natural wonders of Mount Desert Island without the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor.
Designed for a group of four or a set of buddies, the layout features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Each bedroom is equipped with a double bed and has its own private entrance located on either the right or left side of the cottage, making it a perfect spot for guests who want to share a space but not a bedroom. Inside the rooms, you will find a TV with cable, A/C, a mini-fridge, a coffee pot, a microwave, and a small desk.
Guests have access to a brand-new communal outdoor kitchen, which is fully equipped with a grill, Blackstone griddle, air fryer, hot plate, and plenty of seating for social gatherings. Please note that the hot tub and shared indoor amenities are no longer available.
Situated on Route 3 at the head of Mount Desert Island, this location is an adventurer's paradise. You are just a mile away from the welcome center and the first picnic area in the park. The fabled trails of Acadia, including Beehive, Precipice, Cadillac Mtn, and Beech Mtn, are all within easy reach. For local flavor, a bakery and Lunts Lobster shop are just a one-minute walk across the road. The Bar Harbor Hancock County Airport is conveniently located only a half-mile up the road, and the center of Bar Harbor is a mere 20-minute drive.
