The home features four bedrooms with a variety of configurations: two King suites located on the main and lower levels (each with its own bath), one bedroom with a Queen bed and a twin daybed, and another with two twin beds. For additional flexibility, there are Queen pull-out sofas in both living rooms and a futon-sleeper in the loft, allowing for a total guest capacity of 12.
Inside, you will find a fully stocked kitchen with stainless appliances and a dining area that seats six, with additional counter seating for four. The log and beam living room features vaulted ceilings, soaring windows, and rustic & whimsical decor centered around a stone hearth. For entertainment, the lower-level living room is equipped with a movie setup, board games, ping-pong, foosball, and an arcade station featuring Pac-Man, Galaga, and ten more games. For those needing to work, "The Look-Out" loft provides a dedicated work-station and a telescope for star-gazing and wildlife spotting.
Outdoor living is a highlight of the Highwood experience. Enjoy a gas grill on the upper deck, a recessed hot tub on the lower level, and a large, fenced fire pit yard pre-loaded with wood. A balconied terrace and a private, walled yard offer serene spots for quiet contemplation or observing the local deer population.
Located in a prime position, the property is 15-20 minutes from downtown King Street, Appalachian State University, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Within 30 minutes, you can reach Blowing Rock, Appalachian Ski, and Tweetsie Railroad. The neighborhood is home to the ancient New River, with direct access just a one-minute drive from the gate, as well as nearby outfitters, Mill Camp Winery, and Green Valley Community Park.
