This complex is a completely non-smoking resort. No smoking in or outside the units, no smoking at the pools, patio, common areas or in any area of the property.
Do not park anywhere that says "Restricted" or "No Parking", etc.
The parking garage is very shallow so you will not be able to rent or bring a car that is taller than 6' (possibly 6.5'). Please plan accordingly.
There are 2 pools, the quiet pool and the noisy pool. The quiet pool is the one with the hot-tub. There is a number in the pool area you can text for people who are breaking that rule.
This is a privately owned unit. You will not be in contact at all with the front desk. There are no resort amenities other than the ability to use the pools, hot tub and tennis courts. Tennis rackets are not available at the front desk for private residents. The private residents are also not allowed to use the ping pong table. This is very different from the units we own at Maui Ka'anapali Villas (MKV). So, if you have visited our condo at MKV, just know that the HOA here at Royal Sea Cliff manages their own personally owned units under the Outrigger name and there is no separation of loyalty there. This is an older building that is cooled with an air handler. This is not a modern day A/C unit. It is forced air that is blown over cold pipes. It will "cool" the room, but it will never feel cold or like regular dry A/C forced air. We are on the bottom floor, so it is actually cooler here than in most of the other units. No matter how low you turn the thermostat, or how high you turn up the fan, it will never get cooler than what it is. In fact, by putting the A/C unit fan on "high" you will actually heat up the area more, so just keeping it at a low fan setting works best. Keep all doors closed when operating the A/C otherwise it will cause the unit (which is located in the ceiling) to flood the ceiling and then the water will burst through the ceiling and flood the unit.
It is always recommended that you lock your vehicle and remove any valuables from the car when parking. It is also recommended that you lock your unit, including windows and sliding glass doors. Do not park in any spot that says "Restricted" or "No Parking".
Due to the restrictions related to Covid-19, housekeeping is not allowed to perform mid-stay service. Please use the cleaning supplies in the unit to help keep your unit clean.
A security guard is on site from 10PM to 6AM every day. Should you need to contact Security, they can be reached by dialing the number listed in the welcome/check-in email.
Trash disposal should be done on a regular basis. The trash rooms are located next to the twin Lobby elevators near the stairwells, near the ocean side of the structure, on the second floor. It is very important to the conservation efforts that plastic and glass be separated from the regular trash so it can be collected appropriately for disposal.
Conservation: Please help keep our island clean and safe for all. Reducing energy output by turning off lights and conserving water helps everyone. The coral reefs and flora are also very sensitive to the spray type of SPF sun protection. Please only use sunscreen that is purchased on the island and is safe for our waters and coral reefs.
Remove your shoes upon entering, only use house slippers, socks, or clean bare feet inside.
The glass in the shower is beautiful but must be squeegee'd off after every shower to keep it from etching. Please also wipe down chrome to keep it from spotting.
The bath sink faucet and basin are beautiful to look at but they are tricky to use at first. I recommend putting a washcloth or handtowel between the base of the faucet and the sink basin. That will help keep any drip mishaps on the cloth and not in the drawers.
The glasstop storage unit in the entry hall is not for luggage. Please do not place luggage on it as it will crack the glass. You will be charged for any broken glass.
Please empty out the Dryer lint collection after every use. This is a small unit and lint will damage it and create a fire hazard. Do not put sandy items in the washer/dryer. Sand will clog the washer. Make sure to rinse off all sand from bathing suits in the pool showers. Make sure to shake all sand off of towels before washing them.
You will be sleeping in a very high end, adjustable bed. Please take care when using the adjustable bed. Do not jump on the bed (or any other furniture) and please treat it gently.
Items like potholders, aprons, sarongs, sheets/blankets left for couch, cleaning cloths, etc. found in the unit should be washed and put away if used.
Countertops are not cutting boards, please use the cutting boards provided.
This is a "Bacon-free" home. Please do not cook bacon or other high fat meats, or do any deep oil frying while in our home.
Do not place anything in the toilet other than human waste and toilet paper. Personal hygiene products, including "flushable" wipes, should not be flushed down the toilet. Please place them in the waste-can provided. Do not use white linens to remove makeup. Makeup should be removed with your personal makeup remover cloths or with disposable kleenex.
This is a tropical environment, but even if it wasn't ants, geckos, flies, etc will enter. Keeping the screens closed if the doors are open, will help prevent these from coming in. Here in Hawaii we have massive flying roaches. If you leave the door open, they will fly inside. Pest control is scheduled on Wednesdays, typically the last two Wednesdays of the month. If you are staying at the unit on a Wednesday, please know that pest control will be spraying the interiors of the units between the hours of 9AM-Noon.
Mahalo for helping us keep our outdoor potted plants alive by watering them at least once during your stay. They are located in the front entryway and on the back patio.
We cannot guarantee the cleanliness of the previous guest. Our cleaning crews work very hard to get the unit operational, but sometimes the 10-4 cleaning time is not enough for guests who don't take as much care. For example, some guests think it is funny to put a dirty dish into the cupboard. The cleaning crew does not have enough time to check the cabinets for every dish. So please check your dishes and be kind to either leave them out for housekeeping to clean, put them into the dishwasher or put them away clean.
We thank you for treating our home as your own.
Please note that a 15% management fee is added to the reservation total. This fee is used to offset the platform service fees Airbnb now charges hosts. We believe in being transparent so guests understand what the fee covers.
