Sleeping arrangements on the main floor include a primary suite with a king bed and ensuite bath with a walk-in shower, as well as a second bedroom with a king bed and access to a full hall bath with a tub/shower combo.
Upstairs, you will find a nostalgic hallway vanity sink—a nod to the home's 1940s history as a guesthouse. The third bedroom offers a queen bed, a twin mattress in the dormer, and a small balcony with child safety locks. The fourth bedroom is a spacious retreat sleeping seven, featuring two bunk bed sets, a queen bed, and a twin, with a closet stocked with baby gear and a pack ’n play. This area is served by a convenient Jack and Jill bathroom.
The true magic of the Village House is the amazing backyard. This expansive space encourages guests to put down their devices and reconnect, featuring a small creek, a hammock, a rope swing, and a fire pit with a smokeless Solo Stove. A rocking-chair porch and a Weber charcoal grill complete the outdoor experience.
Located right in the heart of Flat Rock and backing up to Bonclarken, you are within walking distance of Carl Sandburg's house and the charming "Little Rainbow Row," where you can visit the Village Bakery, Honey and Salt, Hubba Hubba BBQ, Campfire Grill, and the Wrinkled Egg. While the home is centrally located for quick access to hiking, vineyards, and nearby towns like Hendersonville, Saluda, Brevard, Lake Lure, Greenville, and Asheville, please note that the front of the house faces a scenic byway; some traffic noise may be audible on the porch or indoors.
