Service Animals are defined by the ADA as dogs. (Mini Horses could not effectively access the property). No fees will be charged for service animals.
As required for service animal status, the animal must be under control of the handler which means harnessed, leashed, or tethered unless the individual's disability prevents using these devices or the device interferes with the service animals safe, effective performance of tasks, in which case the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
The service animal must be house broken.
A service animal cannot be left alone at the property.
Any accidents or damages caused by the service animal or owner will be charged for accordingly.
Fraudulently claiming a service animal is against the law and will be reported to police, the ADA and to Air BnB.
Please answer the following questions taken directly from the ADA site-
-
Do you require a service animal because of a Disability?
-
What work or task does the service animal perform?
Emotional Support Animals- You must be disabled; a valid ESA must have a letter written by a licensed mental health professional to legally own an ESA. The ESA must be part of the individuals personalized mental health plan. The letter will need letter head providing contact information of your mental health professional. If provided a valid ESA letter no fees will be applicable.
Fraudulently downloading or creating a document stating ESA status is against the law and will be reported to the police, the ADA, and Air BnB.
According to Air BnB website a host is allowed to decline the presence of emotion support animals from a stay or experience. In addition, a host may charge fees for a guest who is traveling with an ESA. I support all applicable state laws and TOS guidelines given by Air BnB.
