Discover a unique escape at this stunning converted barn in the beautiful village of Bilbrough. Originally a 200-year-old Carriage House, this ground-floor apartment blends rustic character with open-plan living, set within the serene open countryside of England.
Designed for families and groups, the layout features 4 bedrooms, 4 beds, and 2 bathrooms, accommodating up to 10 guests. The sleeping arrangements are unique: one bedroom contains bunk beds ideal for children, with a second double bedroom located off the bunk room. A twin room is situated above this double room, accessed via a spiral staircase (please note this is not suitable for the elderly or infirm). The fourth double bedroom is located down the hallway for complete privacy. For additional guests, sofa beds or Jay-Be beds are available.
The heart of the home is a large open-plan sitting, dining, and kitchen area perfect for relaxing and sharing meals. While the property retains many original features, guests should note it is a historic building where sound can travel between units; earplugs are provided for light sleepers. Outside, guests enjoy a beautiful garden area located approximately 50m from the building.
Location & Neighborhood Situated in the quiet village of Bilbrough, the property offers a peaceful atmosphere where the only sounds are owls, foxes, and the occasional tractor. It is ideally located for those visiting the York Races, situated just six miles from York. Local attractions include The Norman's (1m), Woolas Barn (4.5m), and Hornington Manor (5m). For convenient travel, the A64, A1, and M1 are easily accessible, and the Park and Ride service at Askham Bar is a short six-minute drive away.
