Discover the timeless coastal charm of days gone by at Weekes Cottage, a historic retreat in St. Simons, Georgia. As part of the celebrated Lighthouse Legacy Collection, this home was built in the 1930s and 1940s and has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its authentic architectural character and coastal nostalgia while integrating modern comforts. Experience the warmth and personality of an original beach cottage, where cozy room proportions and unique floor plans offer a genuine island escape.
This spacious home accommodates up to 11 guests with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The sleeping arrangements are thoughtfully distributed across the property: the first bedroom features a queen bed and TV, the second bedroom also offers a queen bed and TV with direct access to the screened-in porch, and the third bedroom contains two full beds and a TV. The fourth bedroom is located in the sunroom with outside access and a daybed, while the fifth bedroom features a bunk. The three bathrooms include a shared hall bath with a classic clawfoot tub and handheld shower, a shower-only bathroom in the sunroom, and a third shared bathroom at the end of the hall that also houses the laundry facilities.
Living spaces are designed for relaxation and gathering. Guests can unwind on the rocking chair front porch or the screened-in porch. Inside, the family room with TV opens into a dining area that seats eight plus four barstools, flowing into a well-equipped kitchen featuring a breakfast table for two and both single-serve and drip coffee makers.
Located mid-beach, the cottage is perfectly positioned halfway between East Beach and the St. Simons Pier Village. The nearby stretch of beach is not tide-dependent and provides ample walking paths in both directions. You are within walking distance of beloved local restaurant favorites, including Porch, Fiddlers, Barrier Island Brewing, and Crab Daddy's. Biking or using a golf cart is a recommended way to explore the village, which is just a couple of blocks away.
