About Property

Welcome to The Original Bungalow, a charming Scandi-chic country cabin from the 1940s nestled among stunning trees in Smallwood, New York. This adorable 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom retreat combines vintage charm with modern conveniences, offering the perfect escape just 2 hours from NYC.

The bungalow comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests across 2 beds - a king bed in the primary bedroom and a queen bed in the second bedroom, both featuring Allswell's highly rated hybrid mattresses. The front door opens to a spacious mudroom that flows into the combined living and dining area, where a comfortable sofa, lounge chairs, and dining table center around a cozy gas fireplace.

Key features and amenities include:

• Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee makers (including Moccamaster and French press)
• Fast Wi-Fi (200+ Mbps) with dedicated workspaces in both bedrooms for remote work
• 42-inch HDTV with Netflix and Vizio sound bar
• Washer and dryer (compact stackable unit)

The deck overlooks a beautiful woodland garden and offers the perfect spot to enjoy meals, morning coffee, or evening cocktails while watching local wildlife. String lights in the trees create magical ambiance on summer evenings. The newly remodeled bathroom features a brand new shower and modern aesthetic, while the kitchen island provides ample space for meal preparation.

Smallwood offers exceptional recreation opportunities, from walking along the lake and waterfall to exploring nearby Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, local breweries, Livingston Manor, and charming Delaware River towns with dining and shopping. The property includes complimentary access to watercraft for White Lake adventures, and guests receive a digital guide with local recommendations.

Important considerations: The upstairs bedroom and shower have lower ceilings that may feel snug for very tall guests. Following Scandinavian design principles, kitchen and dining room windows don't have curtains, creating an open, light-filled atmosphere while maintaining privacy.
