NOISE Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. However, Guests must maintain respectful sound levels at all times, especially outdoors, in compliance with local ordinances. Sounds travels in the desert and in order to be respectful of our neighbors near and far, we request that guests do not scream or play music directly from the pool areas. All music, whether indoor, outdoor, portable, or vehicle audio, must be turned off during quiet hours. Guests are responsible for any fines issued by governing authorities related to noise violations. A minimum $1500 fine will be issued to any guest receiving a citation for a noise violation.

DARK SKIES One of the most cherished features of the High Desert is its pristine night sky, which provides an exceptional stargazing experience with minimal light pollution. To help preserve the natural beauty of our dark skies, please use outdoor lighting sparingly and ensure all lights are turned off when not in use.

FLAMES For safety reasons, no candles or live flames are allowed anywhere on the property. A firepit is provided for outdoor warming.

PHOTOSHOOTS Photoshoots are not permitted without prior approval. Please contact us for permission before scheduling any professional or personal photo sessions on the property.

PETS We understand that many people do not want to leave their dogs behind when they go on vacation. We are open to having dogs stay, so long as their owners understand some basic rules, and pay any pet fee. We will set out a “pet basket” with gray sheets to lay over any rugs, furniture or beds your dog might sit onto reduce dirt/shedding damage. The basket also offers gray towels, a lint roller, pick up bags, and more for use while you are staying.

FURNITURE Please refrain from moving indoor furniture to the outside areas. If you choose to rearrange any furniture inside the house, we kindly ask that you return it to its original position before your departure. Our cleaning staff is unable to assist with moving heavy furniture.

LOST AND FOUND If you happen to leave an item behind, don’t worry! We charge a $50 fee for shipping and handling. Simply contact us with a description of the item, and we will check with our cleaning team to see if it was found.

SPECIAL EVENTS Special events or gatherings are not permitted without prior approval. The maximum number of people allowed on the property at any time is 16 with prior approval and a maximum of 10 overnight guests.

FOLIAGE The desert landscape is home to various species of cacti and trees, including the endangered Joshua tree. Please avoid touching or disturbing these unique plants. As cacti are abundant in the area, we recommend wearing closed-toe shoes when outside to protect yourself from thorns. In the event that you get a cactus thorn stuck in your skin, you are welcome to use the cactus kits provided in the house for safe removal. ITEMS SENT TO THE HOUSE If you need to have an item delivered to the house, please contact us in advance for our address to ensure proper delivery. Please note that due to our remote location, mail may take a few extra days to arrive, and we wouldn’t want your package to be mistakenly received by another guest.

WILDLIFE The high desert is home to a variety of wildlife. If you remain still outdoors, you may encounter some of our local critters. Please keep doors and windows securely closed. Many guests come to the desert not expecting to encounter wildlife, so we want to ensure you’re prepared. Most of the wildlife is harmless, but be aware of rattlesnakes, coyotes, and scorpions. Rattlesnakes are typically inactive from late fall to early spring, but during warmer weather, we recommend making some noise as you move around the property—this helps alert snakes to your presence, giving them a chance to retreat.

Guests are required to sign a separate rental agreement prior to check-in.
