Thailand has a very rich collection of islands. In each of these islands, we can come across a number of beautiful beaches that are famous for their nightlife. The beaches themselves are fantastic during the daytime and the surrounding waters contain a lot of colorful marine life.

Phi Phi Islands
The Phi Phi Islands, 42 km south from    Krabi Town,are widely considered to be amongst the most beautiful places in the world. There are six islands altogether: Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Le, Bida Nok, Bida Nai, Yung, and Phai; each of which offers some of the most unique topography on this planet. Of these six islands Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Le are the largest, and the most well known. Phi-Phi's main attraction is it's beautiful white sand beaches and it's general relaxing atmosphere.

Phuket
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand. At   540 square kilometers, it's about the same size as Singapore. This island is known as the Pearl of Thailand. It is a fully-fledged international playground for those who like life's extremes. The main centers are the beaches, Patong, Karon and Kata.

Ko Chang
Ko Chang is Thailand's second largest    island. It consists of mostly uninhabited islands. There are some beautiful paradise beaches on the west coast of Ko Chang. The island has a spine of hills and jungles.

Ko Samet
The island is just 7 km long but has many small, beautiful beaches. The most popular are Ao Wong Deuan and Hat Sai Kaew. There are some tiny uninhabited islands for excellent snorkeling and fishing.

Ko Samui
Ko  Samui  is  the #1  holiday          destination in Thailand for both packages and backpackers. The two main beaches, Chaweng and Lamai on the east coast, are now fully-fledged tourist havens with luxury resort complexes, numerous bars and restaurants. Getting to the island is very easy with most travel shops offering joint bus/boat tickets. Also Samui has it's own airport and has connections to most other Thai cities.

Similan Islands
Diving enthusiasts should not miss    the Similan Islands with its incredible underwater sightseeing that is so clear you could see it at depths ranging from 2 to 30m. The Similans are referred to as Ko Kao or Nine Islands. True to its name, there are a total of nine islands. These nine islands are small and uninhabited except for park officials and occasional tourists. The beauty of these islands lies in the 32 bird species, both resident and migratory, along with reptiles, amphibians and mammals.

Ko Tao
This is Thailand's #1 diving centre and one of the best sites in the whole of S.E.Asia. Over 20 dive shops operate on the island. The island has waterfalls, streams, beaches, and caves. Protected dolphins, lobsters, and dugongs reside here as well, along with other wildlife. This is also a breeding ground for sea turtles, especially during the months of September and April when they come up to lay their eggs.

Lohn Island
This large, mountainous island is only 20 minutes by regular passenger boat from Chalong Bay, in the south of Phuket. The inhabitants engage in fishing, rubber and coconut planting. There is a long stretch of beach on the northeast coast.
