Southern Thailand with 14 provinces is located on the peninsula between the Andaman Sea to the east and the South China Sea to the East. 

Krabi, one of the most attractive destinations in Southern Thailand has perhaps the country's oldest history of continued settlement.

Susan Hoi or Fossil Shell Beach is one of the major beaches in Krabi. Diamond Cave with countless stalactite and stalagmite formations is another attraction.

Phangnga, the province amidst Mountains, is a land of tin mines and beautiful sceneries. Khao Khien mountain cave, which contains primitive rock paintings of various animals such as fish, water lizards and dolphin, is believed to be some 3,000 years old. Sa Nang Manora Forest Park contains shady cascades and a basin with cool and clear water. Namtok Lampi is a three-level waterfall with a good flow of water all year round.

Phuket, pearl of the Andaman, is the major tourist attraction of Thailand. Phuket Provincial Town serves mainly as an accommodation and shopping center. Phuket Butterfly Farm and Aquarium has a fascinating collection of such tropical creatures as butterflies, insects, fish and coral all arranged in natural surroundings.

Hat Pathong is Phuket's most developed beach. Ko Kaeo is an offshore isle with sandy beaches and underwater scenery, as well as a replica of the Holy Footprint on the island. Phuket Vegetarian Festival is held from the first through the ninth nights of the ninth Chinese lunar month; that is, in September or October.

Songkhla is the land of Songkhla Lake. Kao Seng, one of the most beautiful beaches of Songkhla, is located 3 kms south of Samila Cape. Tinsulanond Bridge is the longest concrete bridge of Thailand with a length of 2.6 kms. Khu Khut Waterfowl Park, a residential area of hundreds of waterfowl, is accessible from Songkhla via Tinsulanond Bridge.

Surat Thani is popularly known as Province of the Good People. Rambutan Fair of Surat is held in August to celebrate the festival of fruits. Phra Borommathat Chaiya, an ancient pagoda housing Lord Buddha relics, are located in Amphoe Chaiya, 54 kms north of the provincial capital. Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park comprises some 40 islands northwest of Ko Samui and covers an area of 250 square kilometers of which 50 square kilometers is land mass.
