Post
Office
Singapore Post provides basic mail and other
postal services. Both the international and
national mail is not regulated, and is
provided by many courier companies,
in addition to Singapore Post. Most hotels
also offer postal services at the front
desk. The Changi Airport Post Office
is open from 8 AM to 8 PM daily.
Telecommunications
Singapore has a modern telecommunications
system that's fully push-button and
digitalized. There are three mobile phone
networks: CDMA, GSM 900 and GSM 1800.
Rates for all calls are based on Sing Tel or
MI IDD rates. IDD calls can be made from the
numerous phone card and credit
card phones located at post offices and
around the city area. Phone cards come in
five denominations of S$2, S$5, S$10, S$20
and S$50, and are sold at Singapore Telecom
Service outlets, post offices and some
retail shops. Sing Tel World Cards in
denominations of S$ 10 and S$20 are also
available at all post offices including
Changi Airport. IDD calls made form hotels
are free of surcharge.
Visitor Information
Network
For tips on what to see and do while in
Singapore, drop in at any convenient point
in STB's Visitor Information Network.
At out visitor information centers. Friendly
staff will advise you in what to do and see,
based on your interests. Some centers even
offer visitor services such as tour
bookings, event ticketing and the sale of
local souvenirs.
If you are in the vicinity of a hotel that
is part of the Hotel Concierge Information
Network, its concierges will advise you on
special promotions, help you order theatre
tickets and even print out a map to help you
find your way around.
You may also pick up free guidebooks or
walking tour guides at all Dome Cafes and
selected Delifrance and Pasta Fresca
outlets. Information's is also available
from brochure racks art Changi Airport, the
Singapore Cruise Center, all major tourist
attractions, hotels and multimedia kiosk
along Orchard Road.
