Driving is on the left. Drivers must be 23 years old and in possession of a valid International Driver's License for a period of one year at least. There are many delightful scenic drivers and over 1,600 kilometers of tarred road all over the island.

Parking Zones
Exit in Port Louis, Rose Hill, Quatre Bornes and Curepipe, tickets may be bought at man filing stations.

Taxis
Taxis are numerous. They are recognizable by their white registration plates with black figures. Whereas private cars have black number plates with white figures. Taxis are now metred.

Bus
Mauritius boasts an excellent bus service. You may thus reach almost every part of the island.

Operating Hours
Urban Regions: 05.30 - 20.00 Rural Regions : 06.30 - 18.30
Late night service till 23.00 between Port Louis/Curepipe via Rose Hill, Quatre Bomes and Vacoas.

Helicopter Sight-Seeing Tours
Two Air Mauritius Bell-Jet Ranger Helicopters are available for transfers airport/hotel and for sight/seeing tours from Air Mauritius Helicopter Section.

The taxis in Mauritius are recognizable by the white plates with black figures.
