Kenyatta Conference Center
This building is the tallest in the Kenyatta city with 28 floors and was built in 1972. At the top is the revolving restaurant which functions only periodically. However, you can usually go up to the viewing level from where you can take photos-ask at the information desk on the ground floor. There can be stunning views of Mts. Kenya and Kilimanjaro on a clear day.
Parliament House
On Parliament road and is recognizable by its clock tower. When parliament is in session you can watch the proceedings from the public gallery, otherwise you can usually arrange to be shown around the building - ask at the main entrance.
Karen Blixen Museum
The museum is found in the house of Karen Blixen (Isak Dinesen), in the suburb of Karen, and many people who have read her books or seen Out of Africa will want to savor the unique atmosphere. Most of the original furniture is housed in the Mc Millan Library. Exhibits include various agricultural implements.
African Heritage Gallery
Gallery is located on Kenyatta Ave opposite the 680 Hotel. Arts and crafts are both exhibited and sold here.
Animal Orphanage
This is part of the Nairobi National Park and was opened in 1963 for orphaned or sick animals. Located close to the main entrance of the Nairobi National Park.
Railway Museum
Located next to the railway station on Station Road among the exhibits are a number of the old steam trains. Perhaps the most interesting is the carriage from which a man-eating lion dragged a victim as the line was being constructed through what is now Tsavo National Park. There is also a model of MV Liemba, the vessel built by the Germans and which still plies up and down Lake Tanganyika.
