Maralal International Camel Derby At Laikipia, Nanyuki
This is the top forum in the world at which the cream of camel racing enthusiasts can meet to compete for the world championships, with two events, one event finishing as the other begins offering endurance and 42km marathon races.
Over the next four years, the event will be
established to the highest competitive status with the world championship firmly based in Kenya. There will be run off heats in other parts of the world. Interested countries are Australia, USA, Tunis, Abu Dhabi, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa and now Uganda.
There is an escalating interest in camel racing in Africa with many countries now beginning to request information to import camels for a variety of reasons, all related to overcoming arid region problems.

Various camel races enhanced awareness of animal and improved camel husbandry.
African fashion shows give chance to see sophisticated fashions with African wear, and African pride.
