India being caught up with the global IT revolution; communication system has developed into a miraculous network that makes people reach at any spot in the world in a splinter of seconds. The mail services by the post offices are very much reliable. Aerogramme, airmails, post cards, inland letter cards, stamped envelopes, postage stamps are all available in any post offices at very reasonable charges. 

Privately run phone services with international dialing facilities are available everywhere in the country. STD/ISD (Subscriber Trunk Dialing/International Subscriber Dialing) are very convenient and fast. National and international calls are dialed directly. Dial the international access code '00' and the country code to call abroad. The country codes can be verified at the telephone booths. 

Internet cafes are available in many of the cities through out the country, where you can browse for your mails or send e-mails. 

Indian English dailies and news magazines and foreign publications like International Herald Tribune, Time, Newsweek, The Economist, and the international edition of Britain's Guardian are available in the main cities of the country.

BBC World Service Radio can be picked up on short wave 15.31 MHz (19.6). Indian Government's Doordarshan caters news and many entertainment programs, which are worth watching, and besides the satellite television with a wide network of numerous international channels scatters a wide range of choices.
