India,
covered three sides by water have plenty of
beaches to soak in. In the southern most
state of Kerala, Kovalam beach is a
friendly hang out at the town of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). Kovalam consisting
four successive small crescent beaches is a
most sought after destination. The Varkala
beach, also in the Trivandrum district of
Kerala is rather calm with its cliffs.
Precisely Kerala can be termed a gift of the
sea.
Goa has a coastline of 105 Kilometers with
most of its edged crescents of sand sucking
greedily at the sea, there are a lot of
beaches to count. Some of the important
beaches of Goa are Arambol, Mandrem,
Dona Paula, Bambolim, Sridao,
Colva, Bogmalo, Anjuna,
Baga, Calangute, Miramar
etc. With so many beaches it is no wonder
Goa has become a favorite destination of the
lovers of sand & sun. Bombay -
Maharashtra coast also have a few beaches
like Juhu, Manari, Gorai,
Vengurla, Ubhadanda etc.
Gujarat, the trinity of sand, sea and sky
has got ethnic beach resorts like that of Samudra,
Dumas, Hajira, Veraval coast
and Chowpatty Beach etc.
The trip to islands of Lakshadweep caters to
the taste of venturing tourists. The Marina
beach of Madras is also quite famous. The
other Coromandel beaches are of Mahabalipuram
and Covelong beach. The beaches at Kanya
Kumari is a major pilgrimage destination
and are overrun by fervent visitors
intending on spiritual experiences. The West
Bengal at the coast of Bay of Bengal has a
few resorts like Digha and Bakkhali
beaches. Gopalpur-on-sea is yet
another beach resort uniting borders of
Calcutta and Orissa.
