Saputara
is the land of the fascinating forests and
the fantastic mountains. Romance spills
unlimited from every tree that inhabits this
blessed land, from every stream that flows
across its many valleys. Civilization, a
force much greater than the British, has not
made many inroads either, preserving this
land in its pristine, unpolluted glory,
where sons are unknown and the people are
simple. At night the stars reach down to the
mountains and become one in an eternal dance
of creation.
It is a place to explore. Mountain tracks
that lead to forgotten trails and
unforgettable villages with warm people and
intriguing crafts, music and dance forms.
When you go exploring, however be a bit
careful. The surprise at the next
corner may be a tiger or a leopard - always
a thrill for the wildlife enthusiasts.
Saputara is the land of colors. Sitting in
the evening, with a hot cup of tea in hand,
witnessing the wild panoramic colors of the
sunset juxtaposed with the tranquil colors
of the mountain lake below, breathing in the
therapeutic air and listening to the songs
of the wind against the mountain willows,
one may be forgiven for never wanting to go
back to the other jungle of concretes.
How to get there
The nearest airports are the ones at Surat,
Vadodra, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. There are
highway networks connecting Saputara to all
the above-mentioned cities as well as to
