Gujarat being in the west cost of the India has a maritime climate. Except in the arid zones of Sundernagar and north Gujarat, the rainfall varies between 65 and 175 centimeters. The state experiences an intense hot or cold climate. But the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Cambay in the west and the forest-covered hills in the east provide some relief to the rigorous extremes of the climate.
