Courtalam falls with an elevation of about 167 meters is situated on the Western Ghats in Tirunelveli district. Nine waterfalls, Penaruvi, Shitarruvi, Pazhathottaruvi add charm to this place. It is believed that the waters of Courtalam have medicinal properties as they run through a forest of herbs. Silver Cascade is the famous waterfall in Kodaikkanal.
