Marina Beach in Chennai is an important spot. It is one of the longest city beaches in the world (13 kilometers  long). Marina is a wide sandy beach, fringed with palms and Casuarinas. Other beaches are Kanyakumari, Tuticorin, Rameswaram, Kodikkarai and Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram).
