Pondicherry
has a
lovely Paradise Beach-1.5 kilometers long,
with two important monuments - the statue of
Mahatma Gandhi and the War Memorial, on the
seafront. The War Memorial was built by the
French to honor the soldiers who died in
World War 1. This beach has also witnessed
some of the Anglo-French battles.
