Prasanthi
Nilayam
|
|
Puttaparthi
was described, a few years
ago, by a western writer
as a place, 'a few
footsteps away from stone
age'. Today, however that
very hamlet holds in its
heart 'Prasanthi
Nilayam' or Abode
of the Highest Peace, one
of the most important
pilgrim centers of India
and the world. The Ashram
also has museums,
stadiums, and educational
institutions, the Sai
Space Theatre etc.

Hyderabad
is the creation of the
Qutab Shahi rulers, who
were of Turkoman origin.
The splendid city that
came up was adorned with
fine mosques and
palaces-elegant buildings
with their domes and
minarets decorated with
fine stucco ornamentation.
The Qutab Shahi tombs near
Golconda Fort, the Jami
Masjid - the oldest mosque
in the city, the splendid
Meccaq Masjid, the largest
in South India, the toil
Masjid and the imposing
Badshah-a-Shurkhana, Darul
Shifa and the Hyderabad
logo-the Charminar add to
the splendor.
