Tucked away in the northeastern region of India, Meghalaya is flanked by Bangladesh in the south and the west and Assam in the north and the east. There is very crypt border at the southwestern corner of the state that it shares with West Bengal. The State has at present seven administrative districts-West Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, West Khasi Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi and Jaintia Hills.
