Assam occupies a major chunk of the northeastern part of India. In the north it is bordered with Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan. In the east it borders with Manipur Mizoram and some parts of Burma. To its south is Meghalaya, Bangladesh, Tripura and Mizoram. West Bengal borders with Assam in the west.
