Perth the
capital city of Western Australia is located on the beautiful
Swan River. It is found on the coastal area in the south-west of
Western Australia. Named for the beautiful swans found along the
river system, it was settled in 1829. Perth's most valuable
asset is Kings Park, where 400 hectares of natural bushland has
been set aside as a reserve, which overlooks the Swan River. Two
thirds is remnant vegetation, which includes many varied flora
and fauna. Over 70+ species of birds are recorded. This is a
unique reserve so close to a capital city.
