Getting from point A to B in Singapore is not only just easy, but it is also economical. An efficient public transportation network offers taxis, buses and the modern Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) rail system.

Taxis
Over 15,000 air-conditioned cabs provide comfortable, hassle-free travel at a very reasonable cost. They can be flagged down 24 hours a day on most roads, with well-marked taxi stands available outside most major shopping centers and hotels.

Buses
You can easily get from one point to another by bus with a Transit- Link Farecard, which can also be used on the MRT.SBS bus 36 runs between Orchard Road and Changi Airport.

Operating hours
From 6 AM till 12 AM

Tourist Day Ticket
Tourist Day Ticket allows you to take up to 12 rides a day regardless of distance traveled, on the MRT and on all basic fare bus services. You will need to inform the ticketing officer of the exact date you wish to use the card as it is printed on the card and valid for that day only. Tickets can be bought at any Transit Link Ticket Sales Office located in most Mass Rapid Transit stations and bus interchanges up to seven days in advance.

Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)
Clean, punctual and air-conditioned, the MRT is a hallmark of efficiency.

Operating hours
From 6 AM to midnight at frequencies of 3 to 8 minutes.

NB
There are fines for littering, smoking, eating and drinking in MRT stations and on board the trains.

Singapore Trolley
Take a trip down memory lane on board the Singapore Trolley, a red tram bus which plies between the Orchard Road shopping belt, the colonial district, the Singapore River, Raffles Hotel, Clarke Quay, Marina and Suntec city.

Where to get tickets
From hotel concierges or the Trolley driver directly.

Sia Hop-On
Hop onto this tourist bus service and explore the shopping, cultural and entertainment areas within the city. The Sia Hop-on covers Orchard Road, Bugis Junction, Suntec City, the colonial District, Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, Chinatown and the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

Operating hours
Daily, from 8.30 am to 7 pm at 30-minute intervals.

Visitors to Singapore traveling on Singapore Airlines or Silk Air are entitled to free rides on the Sia Hop-on. Simply present your boarding pass or air ticket.

Where to get tickets
From most hotels, SDIA ticket offices in the city and form the bus drivers directly.

Airport Shuttle (Maxi cab)
This is a scheduled shuttle service with flexile routing between the Singapore Changi Airport and almost all hotels within the city (excluding hotels on Sentosa Island and Le Merdien Changi). There are also flexible alighting points at any destination within the Central Business District including MRT stations, The 6-seater Maxi Cab has wheelchair accessible features and luggage room.

Operating hours
From 9 AM to 11 PM at Frequencies of 30 minutes (9AM to 6 PM) and 15 minutes (6PM to 11 PM).

Where to get tickets
Bookings can be made at the airport shuttle counters located in the arrival hall of Changi Airport Terminals 1 and 2.

Payment is made to the Maxi Cab driver who will accept cash, major credit cards and charge cards.
