It is now not uncommon for Singaporeans and expatriates alike to be seen running off for short diving trips, dirt biking, water-skiing and rock climbing whenever there is a chance. This active lifestyle is complemented by another growing Singaporean pastime - spectator sport. From the local S-League to the English Premier League to world-class events like the Johnnie Walker Classic and Heineken Tennis Open, Singapore is the place to lap up all the thrills and spills.

Indoor And Outdoor Sports In Singapore

Bowling
Singapore has over 20 bowling centers, each offering more than 20 lanes.

Operating hours
Most bowling centers open as early as 9 AM and close between 1 am and 2 AM, though there are some 24-hour centers, mostly in the Marina South area.

Cycling
Cycling
Cycling is a modest mode of transportation, a great recreational-cum-exercise activity (cycling paths link many parts of the island), and last but not least, it can challenge one's sense of adventure in the form of mountain or dirt biking. Bicycles can be rented at a number of public parks, including those at East Coast Park, Sentosa, Pasir Ris and Bishan. Pulau Ubin also offers mountain biking.

Golf
Singaporeans are increasingly, interested in the game of golf, and this is reflected in the world-class golf course peppered across the island.

Operating hours
Generally between 7 AM and 7 PM. Some clubs offer night golfing till about 11 PM.

Horse Racing

On-site racing as well as "live" telecasts as Malaysian races can be enjoyed at the Singapore Racecourse at Kranji. Visitors are subject to observe a strict dress code in the public stands. Shorts, singlets and slippers are not allowed. The dress code for the Hibiscus Room, from where tourists can watch the races, is smart casual.

WATER SPORTS IN SINGAPORE
Water SportsSome of the most popular sports on the island of Singapore are water based. Round - the - island canoe trips are a rage, as are the thrills and spills of water-skiing off Sembawang and Kallang river (venue of previous world championships), windsurfing and sailing.

Canoeing
Various private operators provide hiring facilities for canoes. These are located at Changi point, East Coast Park and Sentosa Island.

9 AM to 6 PM daily

Scuba Diving
Most local diving schools conduct courses sanctioned by NAUI, PADI or SSI , three internationally recognized scuba-diving associations.

Water sports like water skiing, windsurfing or sailing are also conducted by various private operators.
